Singers of all voice parts are welcome to join Bristol Choral Society and are encouraged to attend a few ‘no obligation’ rehearsals before deciding if they would like to join the choir. Some experience of choral singing and sight reading is helpful.
All ages are welcome and we are proud of having a wide age-range of singers in the choir from 14 years upward.
Rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings in central Bristol from 7.15pm – 9.30pm.
After attending a few rehearsals, if you wish to join the choir, you will undertake a short, friendly audition with conductor Hilary Campbell.
Our annual subscription is £195.00 payable at the start of the season (concessions are available). Those joining part way through the year will be charged prorata from the date of first attendance. It is also possible to arrange to pay by instalments.
We are determined that no one should be unable to join the choir because they cannot afford it; if you want to discuss anything about subs, please contact the Choir Manager, or the Treasurer, in confidence.
Potential new members can download the members handbook here. This contains everything you need to know about singing with Bristol Choral Society.
Young singers aged 14+ (school years 9 to 13) may join as Apprentices, without audition. Please see the Apprentices page for details.
Bristol Choral Society also offers a number of Choral Scholarships each year, open to singers aged 18-30 or students in full or part-time music education.
If you are interested in joining Bristol Choral Society or coming to any of our rehearsals, or would like more information, please complete this form or email choir@bristolchoral.co.uk.
