Singers of all voice parts are welcome to join Bristol Choral Society and are encouraged to attend a few ‘no obligation’ rehearsals before deciding if they would like to join the choir.
All ages are welcome and we are proud of having a wide age-range of singers in the choir from 14 years upward. Many of us joined in our 20’s or 30’s and have never left.
We pride ourselves on singing to a high standard, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have fun during rehearsals and on away trips. Our invigorating Music Director Hilary Campbell and our superb accompanist and Assistant Music Director, Steven Kings, make sure of that.
Rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings at the Trinity Henleaze URC Church, Waterford Rd, Bristol BS9 4BT. We rehearse from 7.15pm – 9.30pm.
After attending a few rehearsals, if you wish to join the choir, you will undertake a short, friendly audition with conductor Hilary Campbell. Read more about auditions here.
On being accepted into the choir a pro-rata annual subscription is due. However we are able to provide subsidies from our funds for students and others, if cost is an issue. Just talk (in confidence) with our Chorus Manager.
Potential new members can download the handbook here. This contains everything you need to know about singing with Bristol Choral Society.
Young singers aged 14+ (school years 9 to 13) may join as Apprentices, without audition. Please see the Apprentices page for details.
We would love to hear from you if you think that Bristol Choral Society could be for you.
