Singers of all voice parts are welcome to join Bristol Choral Society at any time, and are encouraged to attend a few ‘no obligation’ rehearsals during the first three weeks of term, before deciding if they would like to audition to join the choir.
You will receive a very warm welcome and choir members will be happy answer any questions you may have. Rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings at the University of Bristol, Tyndall Avenue.
After attending a few rehearsals, if you wish to join the choir, you will undertake a short, friendly audition with conductor Hilary Campbell, comprising some scales/arpeggios to establish your range, pitching/aural exercises (such as singing the middle note of a chord), some sight-singing and a short prepared piece of your choice. Read more about auditions here.
Potential new members can download the handbook here. This contains everything you need to know about singing with Bristol Choral Society.
Young singers aged 14+ (school years 9 to 13) may join as Apprentices, without audition. Please see the Apprentices page for details.
We would love to hear from you if you think that Bristol Choral Society could possibly be for you!
All who enquire are invited to attend rehearsals during the first three weeks of term, where you can decide if Bristol Choral Society is the right choir for you and chat to existing members before deciding whether to put yourself forward for an entry audition. If you would like to join the choir, have any questions or need any more information please contact Sarah Fernandes by phone on 0117 962 3223 or use the contact form below:
