For our first concert of the new season, we will be performing a collection of exciting and inspiring works by contemporary British composers, accompanied by piano duet and percussion.
The full line up has yet to be finalised, but will include Cecilia McDowall’s A Time for all Seasons, a cantata composed in 2016 with the well-known text from Ecclesiastes ‘to every thing there is a season’, interwoven with a modern-day reworking of these verses by the award-winning poet Kevin Crossley-Holland.
We are also extremely pleased to welcome back the Bristol Youth Choir to join us in Bob Chilcott’s Songs and Cries of London Town, a popular cantata evoking London’s bygone sights, sounds and contrasting moods.
This concert also marks a hugely important step for the choir in preparing for our first recording with the prestigious Delphian Records label, with these two previously unrecorded works forming part of the repertoire. So for the first time you can hear us sing live before buying the recording and reliving the experience!
