Adrian Partington
Adrian Partington is the Conductor and Music Director of Bristol Choral Society. He is as an outstanding and versatile musician and well known throughout the UK as a conductor, chorus master, pianist and organist.
Adrian currently holds the post of Director of Music at Gloucester Cathedral and his other appointments include: Artistic Director of the BBC National Chorus of Wales; Artistic Director the Chorus of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and Joint Conductor of The Three Choirs Festival. Since taking up the BBC appointment in 1999, Adrian Partington has prepared the BBC National Chorus of Wales for a number of concerts and recordings for BBC Radio 3, many of which he also conducted.
Until 2000 Adrian was conductor of the City of Birmingham Youth Chorus and Associate Conductor of the CBSO Chorus. He has also prepared choirs for eminent conductors: Haitink, Abbado, Rattle, Tortelier and Elder. Over recent years Adrian has worked extensively with many of the principal choirs in the country including the London Symphony Chorus, the Philharmonia Chorus and The Bach Choir. Adrian Partington directed the BBC Symphony Chorus for the Opening Night of the Proms in 2005.
