Tonight you have an opportunity to indulge yourself and the one you love with a truly romantic treat for Valentine’s Day!
This evening’s Gala Concert features the cream of British musicians: Bristol Choral Society is joined by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and a glittering trio of the finest soloists, led by renowned baritone Donald Maxwell, and conducted by the choir’s musical director Adrian Partington.
Come and listen to a very popular programme of some of the world’s best-loved operatic arias and choruses with orchestral interludes – all on a suitably romantic theme for Valentine’s Day!
This concert is being organised in association with the Rotary Club of Bristol and its first woman President, Martina Peattie, who is a member of Bristol Choral Society. The concert has a charitable purpose – to support two Bristol-based charities: St Peter’s Hospice which cares for local people with incurable illness and supports their families and children; Next Link, which provides temporary accommodation and support services to local women and children experiencing and escaping domestic abuse. There will be a retiring collection at the end of tonight’s concert and you are asked to give generously to these two very worthy causes.
