Colston Hall, Bristol
Adrian Partington - Conductor
Varied, fast-moving and full of the Christmas spirit, our ‘Let’s Celebrate’ concerts are always fun! This year we have the added excitement of a world premiere – a piece for children’s choir, adult choir and brass, specially commissioned by Bristol Choral Society from Karen Wimhurst (Librettist: Claire Williamson).
So – if you fancy the stirring sounds of the Bristol Brass Consort, the thunder of the Colston Hall organ, the excitement on 120 young faces and the chance to join in, this is an evening not to be missed.
This concert is the culmination of our outreach work in primary schools this autumn. The generosity of the Foyle Foundation and the Garfield Weston Foundation has made it possible for us to work with Junior children from Ashton Gate, Gay Elms, New Oak and Sea Mills primary schools. Each has had 10 visits from professional trainers, assisted by choir members, to support teachers in preparing their children for this evening’s concert.
Adult tickets are priced at just £5 and all children under 16 go FREE!
The commission is supported by part-funding from the PRS Foundation.
